Bic and Taylor Green, Ridgefield, Connecticut
In 1993 I went on my first adventure and I was seven months old. We explored Rialto Beach in Washington from the perch set on my father’s back. Exploration has always been a major part of my life and it seemed incredibly fitting that before my departure to Chilean Patagonia for a NOLS semester course, my dad gave me this fantastic jacket expecting it to come back in shreds or to not come back at all.
For three months I lived outside and bared the elements of the sea and mountains but always had the protection of this remarkable garment. Today the Glissade jacket rests upon the door of my room, held together by multicolored thread and rip stop patches; waiting for its next expedition. Its durability, usefulness and ever lasting style provide me with a constant reminder of Patagonia’s dedication to quality and excellence. I know that whenever I buy gear from Patagonia, I’m buying it for a life time.
